A BRAND NEW PROJECT

Cooking is my passion. And since you ended up on this website, reading these lines, it might be yours too. It turns out that we share this passion with many more people. Worldwide. Of all genders. All ages.  All countries. I cook every day and love to eat my own food, but what I find to be a great way to get to know new recipes, stories behind a dish and learn about food culture is this: Eat food that is cooked by other people, not in a restaurant but in their home. Taste their ideas, watch their hands move and capture what they have created. Ask them questions of where this dish comes from, whether their mother used to cook it, whether it reminds them of their childhood. Find out why this dish is dear to them. Share this meal together, in full presence and openness towards that other person. Be receptive to learning.

I am on a quest to connect with people over food. To do that, I am asking one simple question:

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE DISH TO COOK?

I then visit the person in their home and witness the process of cutting, marinating, boiling, steaming, frying, baking, seasoning and serving their food. Their go-to-dish. The recipe that they know inside and out, the meal they feel the most comfortable cooking because they have made it so many times. Their favourite dish to cook. The food they love

By being in these people’s homes and eating their favourite dish, I want to capture them in the most authentic way. I also want to show how food creates human connection, friendship and cultural bonding if shared in such a natural environment, all documented through the lens of my camera.

If you would like to be a part of this, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I am open to anyone who has interest to participate in this project and am already looking forward to getting to taste your dish! The only requirement is that you have at least one Michelin star – just kidding, of course! It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what you love to cook, all that counts is your passion for food.

I am currently based in Berlin which obviously limits the location to.. you guessed it: Berlin! However, I am a traveller at heart and would not be surprised to be sitting on a plane next weekend. We will figure it out. There is a contact form at the bottom of this page, simply shoot me a message and I will be in touch. I am excited for this, I hope you are too!

Throw your aprons on, people, because we are cooking!

Eating is a necessity but cooking is an art.
